A group exhibition inviting artists to make work highlighting the qualities they find most endearing in their favorite creatures.
“Researchers have found that neuron in the amygdala, the brain’s emotional centre show a strong preference for images of animals. People are particularly drawn to features that are typical of human infants – such as large round eyes and prominent foreheads or snouts. Each year, it comes as a surprise when we see that the most popular pieces at the RA summer exhibition tend to be paintings and drawings of animals, like ‘The Bored Horse’ (below) which sold in record times in 2018.”
Kate’s installation Mabel’s Beasties comprises a series of drawings and objects expressing the chaotic life of an artist living with a new puppy .
