An installation on the Thames at Twickenham, 2009
woven flag, 460 x 910 mm , rope and toggle.
The intention was to introduce the curators of Ham House and Marble Hill House, two stately homes and close neighbours on opposite banks of the Thames at Twickenham, to organize an exchange of some kind. When this proved impossible, the artist responded by designing a flag for Hammertons Ferry, the passenger ferry which is the go-between, the connection between the two houses. Ham House is run by the National Trust and Marble Hill House by English Heritage. The flag has a hybrid logo of the two organisations.
